After reading lots of reviews on various latin programs it looks like Lively Latin will be a good fit for what we want (secular, fun, parts to whole). If I got any of those wrong, please let me know! :)
I'm debating whether or not to purchase the .pdf with the audio CD or the printed version with the audio CD. We do not have a color printer. Does that matter for printing purposes?
Also on the checkout page it says:
2 CD BigBook set, containing the PDF pages and Classical and Ecclesiastical pronunciation files
Does that mean the CD has both pronuncitations for each lesson? If so, that's great!

Well, I do print mine in color but I don't think you would have to. I bought mine as a download before the book was available.
I do love Lively Latin.

I print Lively Latin in color, but I had to print for a few months in black and white and it wasn't a problem. I bought the online version because I wasn't totally sure we'd like it and I didn't want to spend the extra money for the printed/cd versions. I'd expect the cd to have both pronunciations, because she has them both online.
We all love Lively Latin here!

I just bought this a couple of weeks ago and am so happy with the curriculum. A good fit for us. I went with the on-line version since I couldn't see what the other gave me except my own CD and that wasn't worth the extra money to me. I had trouble that first week getting to the lessons due to some changes on her website, but when I emailed her she sent me exactly what I needed so I could print out the lesson. Right away too! Very nice customer service.
Both types of pronunciation are on the website if you decide to go with the on-line version. We're doing ecclesiastical since that's what our church uses.
I do use a color printer, but sometimes end up printing black and white if I forget to change over the printer. I haven't noticed a difference. For the picture studies, I'd just have the kids use the picture on the screen then you wouldn't have to worry about the color.

We have been using the online version which has been great. It is one of my son's favorite subjects, he likes it better than Spanish though I'd like to do both but the Latin is easier to get to almost every day. Online there are both pronunciation versions. Also there are notes for the intro and first few lessons that are very helpful, not sure if those are included on the CDs or print version so make a point to find them online. So far, we have finished the intro and lesson 1 and started lesson 2.

Most of Lively Latin can be printed in black and white. There are a handful of pages (maybe two or three per lesson) with art studies. These could be either printed separately or viewed on the computer screen.

If you do decide to buy the print version plus the CDs, I can tell you that the pages are printed on very nice, high quality paper. I've put all of our pages into plastic sheet protectors, but that has made the Big Book too big for the huge 3 ring binder that it came with, so I'm going to have move some of the pages into a second 3 ring binder. The advantage here is that everything is printed out and protected and then pages that need to be printed out could be printed out in black and white, while the learners refer to the color pages in the book when necessary.
You can of course print out whatever you need from the CDs. You could take the CD to a printer and have them printed out there if you needed them printed out in color.

I got the download version and now have only a b&w printer. It hasn't been a problem. We're only on the second lesson and have had a few color pics to look at - and we study those on the screen if we want to look at them in detail...........We're very happy with the program (9 yo ds) and my ds claims it's his favorite class......

Thanks for the replies. :) I'm leaning toward buying the print version since that seems the easiest for starting out. We don't have a computer in our school room (on purpose) so I'd need the audio CD and it would be most convenient to just have the color pictures there in the binder. The .pdf cd will be nice for printing out any consumable portions....
I'm glad to read so many positive reviews of this program! :)
