Just when I thought things couldn't go any better. The funny thing is that ds has adjusted amazingly, met tons of friends, (probably knows most of the kids on campus by now) was budgeting time well...He is just not happy at his school. The situation is that he looked at and applied to schools where he would be able to play his sport (small DII and NAIA schools). These schools would be great for a kid with ds's personality if he were playing the sport and keeping busy through it. But ds decided before going there that he was not playing sports in college. So now he is at a small school and he is really a large school kinda kid. He is actually trying to get into 2 larger schools for next semester. Dh and I think that life is too short to be unhappy when you can change the situation without much effort (and with less expense). What do you all think?

I told her to figure out where she wanted to go. She stayed there one year and moved to a different school this year--and she is very content with the move. I'd say go for it.

I would definitely allow him to transfer if, after loads of discussion and prayer, he is sure he would be happier at a larger school. If the reason to go to the school he is at no longer applies, I would not hold him to it.

The sooner he transfers, the better. If he's really sure about it, I'd be in favor of it.

I think it's up to the student.

I was miserable after only one quarter at the college I thought I really wanted to attend. I transferred in January of my freshman year to another school and it was definitely the right decision for me.
