Possibly- we live in Bellevue but my dd has a friend who lives near Fremont (they are both 14) Do you have information on the practices, locations and times etc. We usually don't come into town during the week during rush hour. Thanks!

Sounds way cool but we are too far away--Tri-Cities.

Located on the Eastside. Meeting and practice times still to be determined.

Sounds great--Keep us posted--would you like my email and phone? Also- since I don't have much knowledge about this type of activity is there a website that explains it in general? Thanks Nancy

The national website doesn't do a great job of explaining the program, but I will add the link, as well as the more local link.

This program would be great for anyone contemplating a career in law or government or just to see what it is like. I have heard from people in the college admissions process that this is the kind of extra curricular that can go a long way in counteracting some of the stereotypes held against homeschoolers.

also fun for actors. (ny dd)
wa is the only state where mock trial is run by ymca. in other states it is run by the bar asssociation.
do you already have a lawyer for the advisor?
the nice thing about mock trial; it is over relatively early in the year (unless of course you progress to state and nationals). texas is a real powerhouse, and a little classical Christian school in Moscow Idaho has made real progress in the last few years- goint to nationals for about the last ten. they use a VERY classical approach, interesting.

kate, looks like you know more about it than we do;)
The state coordinator said that my daughter's team would be assigned a lawyer mentor once the team was formed. Apparently you need 7 members, so that is what she is searching for now.
My daughter is 17, if possible her 14 year old brother would join, as well. So now they need 5 more members.
Please let us know if you are interested!!

Do you have any idea when and how much time per week this might take? I could see putting up flyers or however you contact the eastside coops used by homeschoolers--. With the price of gas and traffic on 405 there's a big difference in time commitment depending on which part of the eastside you are talking about! Are you thinking more mornings, afternoons, or evenings? Also- is this mainly during the week or would it include weekends on a regular basis? Thanks so much, Nancy
