You're the first one to make the official wish! It's not midnight here yet, LOL!

Yes, I'm turning 39. I blogged about it a couple of days ago. I'm so excited - I just know this year is going to rock. You know how some years you feel so set up to just win at life? This is one of them.

Sometimes the idea of 39 scares me and others it seems like the sweetest time of life I've ever come across. And luckily I have friends who are older than me who seem to be enjoying life to the fullest, so I know it can even get better than this.

Tomorrow (Weds) I'm volunteering nearly all day at my daughter's school and then making pizza with the kids. It's not exactly my dream birthday, but I'm supposed to sneak out for a sushi lunch with dh and the kids have been rustling around with wrapping paper all day so it should be fun. My big present from dh? Money, of course - for clothes, etc.

Oh, and I hacked off about 6 inches of hair today. Nobody seems to have noticed. It turned out a little funky, and if I don't like it in a week I'll go have a professional fix it up.

And, where do you eat sushi? Is it good? My husband and I love, love, love sushi but for as much time as we spend shopping there I've completely over looked any sushi restaurants.

Everyone! So nice to come on here and get showered with birthday wishes.

Rose - don't get too excited; it's kind of fake sushi, but Cafenara has little pre-made plates of it. You can either get veggie sushi, fake crab sushi, or a mix of both. It's cheap, it's fast....it'll do until I can visit California again.

I think Prince Rupert has a sushi place, but I've never been there.

When are you going to be in town, woman? I'd love to see you!

My friend goes to the one in Rupert once a year.

I get my fix when I visit my family down in the lower mainland. I usually overdose on it (is that possible). But I do make it home made about once a month -- california rolls though (although I have made sushi with sushi grade salmon when I've found it available).

So, you should come visit me and I'll make sushi. I am in Terrace every couple of weeks (less with the snow) but I usually have four other bodies attached to me. Soon I will make a day trip out of it for myself and then we'll get together.
