Why do publishers continue to use fonts for young children that are not the typical manuscript form? I don't know the names for either but I'm sure you know what I mean. Ds learned his letters similar to the Zaner Bloser style. With g's that look like this g for example. I find it frustrating when ds is reading beginning readers and the g's and a's in particular are in the standard font that has an a like this a and the g's with the double flattened circles. Times New Roman maybe?

It just makes it confusing for beginning readers.

I totally agree. This type of font is much easier for new readers to understand. The "a" and "g" and other letters look they way children learn to write them.
