I have all my daughter's "stuff" in a great big file - a book list for each year, her Latin tests, music theory tests, papers she's written.... just in a big ole file. This process is intimidating to me - maybe even more so than any other aspect of the college application process. I know once I get started, I'll be fine. But I would LOVE to see the formats used by those who have gone before me. :) Please feel free to black out any grades or other confidential information. Really I just want to know how to get started.
Did you list courses by grade or topic area (all maths together, etc.)? Did you list every textbook used? For science, did you list experiments performed (I've seen this requirement for one college, but it's not on dd's VERY short list at the moment)
What did you do with senior year classes, the classes they're taking while the application is under consideration? Did you give each class a number of credits?
Yes my head is spinning :) Thanks so much for helping to bring me back to earth.

I tweaked and used the one found on this site, which sorts by grade:
http://www.donnayoung.org/forms/planners/hs-transcript.htm
but the version here sorts by subject:
http://www.covenant.edu/admissions/undergrad/home-schooled
And one more site:
http://www.hslda.org/highschool/academics.asp#transcripts
The textbooks and such would go under your course descriptions (if you are submitting them). For senior year, I simply listed the course titles and put an asterisk in the grading section which was noted on the bottom of the transcript as *in progress.
ETA: I didn't mean to sound snotty when I said they were easy, just that they are not as difficult and scary as one might think! :-)

Hello readwithem,
There are some transcript examples in the file sections of the following Yahoo groups (you do need to join to see them):
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/conservativehs2c/
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/homeschool2college/
and
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/hs2coll/
The last group has some particularly impressive examples. I've modeled my teen's transcript after one of the ones I found there. If you send me a personal message with your email address, I'd be happy to send mine to you.
Regards,
Kareni

Thanks peri and Kareni! I've bookmarked the pages, joined yahoo group and printed some things to look at and chew on - I really appreciate it. (deep breath).

That's pretty much exactly our plan.
Seems pretty basic-standard to me :)

I couldn't afford to spend $50 for the TranscriptPro software that would do it all for me, so I did it myself in Microsoft Word. It was very time-consuming, but it turned out looking GREAT. And for EK, I won't have to set it all up again; it's saved on my computer, so all I should have to do is put EK's information in place of ER's.
Here is a link to the sample I used: http://http://www.homeschooltranscripts.com/pdf/StandardSortbySubjectFormat.pdf

Thanks - I had forgotten about Inge Cannon's software. The things you hear about 3-4 years too early :)
BTW your link had one too many "http" at the front - here it is
