It has copywork, grammar, picture study, creative writing, writing letters, and poetry in it.Lessons are short and most can be completed in 20 minutes or less.Dd is enjoying using this book very much and has requested to do the next book next year. She is able to do it independently and often works ahead in the book.

My 11yo is using this and she likes it a lot. I do not know if I will continue to use it, as I noticed that the older lessons for writing focus mostly on poetry and creative writing. I would like some more practical writing instruction.

How rigorous is the grammar? We're using R&S now, and it's fine, but dd responds better to things like what this book appears to be. (We did Primary Language Lessons in lower grades) Are your children retaining the grammar info?

I used this last year for my 12 yo dd along with Growing With Grammar just to round things out a bit. She enjoyed doing it independently and I thought the lessons were a great addition to what we were already doing.
I feel that she needed the extra grammar that GWG provided while using the Language Lessons and that they complimented each other well.

How rigorous is the grammar? ... Are your children retaining the grammar info?

I am interested in these questions too. Thanks!
