I don't know how to order from their site, but many of the books are available used on Amazon.

Here is a link (http://www.pearsonschool.com/index.cfm?locator=PSZ3R9&PMDbSiteID=2781&PMDbSolutionID=6724&PMDbProgramId=52181&level=4&prognav=po).
I have found it helpful to call the 800 number and order a catalog. I have also called the 800 number so that they can walk me through their website. It's not easy to navigate. I always order through the 800 number, although I know some have managed to use their online system.
you can often buy a lot of them on e-bay. I purchased all the earth science plus 2 chemistry and a couple of biology (all year 2000) as a lot for $10 plus shipping (another $10).

Ok, and if I bought one of these books, does it include activities, or is it simply a textbook?

The student textbooks have simple experiments & activities in each chapter.

I got my books from ebay and the workbooks from Prentice Hall.
The Prentice Hall website is a mess. Order a paper catalog. You can use the paper catalog to find the books on either amazon or ebay. You can order workbooks to go with earlier editions from Prentice Hall.
If you order anything from Prentice Hall, do it over the phone. Their website doesn't work well. You can order anything in their catalog. All you have to do is register with them as a hser.
