I've been thinking about using History Odyessy (level 2 Ancient) with my middle school aged ds next year. HO level 2 uses Kingfisher as the main reading, along with Van Loon's Story of Mankind.
Today, I had the opportunity to get a good long look at Kingfisher. To me Kingfisher reads like a textbook. SO, what would be the difference in using a Abeka's 7th grade history text, History of the World along side other "whole" or "living" books such as Van Loon's Story of Mankind, instead of Kingfisher?
Have any of you ever used Abeka's 7th grade History of the World text as a spine during the 2nd time through the history cycle? Opinions?
By the way, the son I'm considering this for is currently in 7th grade and will complete SOTW vol. 4 this year.
Thanks!
Greta
