My student has a series of bowling pins set up.
The first pile has 3 pins, 2 on the bottom and one on the top.
Second pile 3 on botton, 2 in middle, 1 on top
third pile 4 on botton, 3 next, 2 on top of that, 1 on top
Fourth pile, 5 on botton, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1
She needs to write an algebraic expression or formula explaining this pattern.
She also needs to indicate that the pattern starts with 3.
