My 3rd grader is about to finish up Mind Benders Beginnings. I know that moving to Mind Benders A1/A2 will be too hard (we have the cd-rom), so I'm looking for something for him to do for the next year and a half.

Any ideas?

Shari,
Dd8 is using Building Critical Thinking Skills Book 1 and loves it. It covers many different concepts and it'll last us probably two years for her to work through it. Hth.

She is currently doing Primarily Logic. When she completes it, she'll start working through the level 1 activities in Critical Thinking Activities, Grades 4-6. She has already gone through the Grade K-3 one over the last 2 years. RRC has both. They are pricey, but they are huge with lots of activities, in 3 levels of difficulty.

If you had to choose between Logic Safari and Logic Countdown, which would you start with? My ds8 has completed the grid-type puzzles in Mind Benders Beginnings with relative ease.

switched to Dandylion Press series last year.

I would (and did with mine) start your 8 y/o with Primarily Logic, it's for grades 2-4 and covers finding relationships, analogies, all and no statements, syllogism, if-then statements, and deductive reasoning.

Logic Safari book 1, is for grades 2-3, it's all grid type puzzles, there are also a few grid type puzzles in Primarily Logic. My ds enjoys this type of puzzles, so I alternate the two books.

Logic Countdown is for grades 3-4, we'll be using that one next year (at age 9/4th grade). It has a variety of puzzle types like with Primarily Logic.

We go back and forth, two pages of Logic Countdown and then one page of Logic Safari. If I had to choose only one to do - I would do Logic Countdown. (This is especially true if you already have Mindbenders to do later.)
