A D.O. is a doctor of osteopathic medicine. They get their degree from a osteopathic school.
An M.D. is a doctor of medicine and the degree comes from a traditional medical school.
Both are legally certified docs with similar training. The difference lies in the philosophy of medicine they are taught in school.
