My boys I learned to just wait until they were 3 and pretty much said okay no more diapers and that was it. My dd is 2 and has not interest she doesn't respond to bribes. I am not in a hurry but I thought girls were easier and she shows no interest? She had great communicaiton skills which I thought were part of the process. Just curious.

it was different. i had issues with both kids. my son was over 4 before he finally 'got it' and stopped going in the corner

my daughter just didn't like being told what to do, lol. but she did get it sooner than my son...although she had an accident today, what is that about?

Both of my older girls were over 3 years old before they were potty-trained! My youngest was the easiest to potty-train, but that was probably because she had the other two to follow after! :D

Probably 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 is fairly normal.

My oldest dd trained at 3 years, 4 months.

My son trained at 3 years, 4 months.

My youngest daughter trained at 2 years, 6 months.

With my kids, at least, gender didn't have anything to do with it!

I only have girls, so I have nothing to compare with. But it wasn't easy. The first one wasn't too bad, she was nearly 3 when she trained. The second one was awful, esp. with BMs.

My girl was easier, but I think it is an individual thing with each child. Is she showing signs of readiness? (Waking dry, looking for a private spot etc.?

We've got two of each here, and I think they were all about the same.

My girl was waaaaay tougher than my boy. But not just in potty-training. She was over 4yo before she was reliable *just during the day.*

I don't know from experience as none of mine were eager to train. One of my nephews self trained at 18 months, just like his mother did at the same age.
