Bottom line - I prematurely panicked. It was a long break over the summer and she just needed a little more review. After a few more days it all came back to her and she's doing fine now. During my panic I did find a cheap copy of Forester's Algebra and she's doing some of those problems but is finding them very easy.
So if my post worried anyone using or considering VideoText, don't let it. It's definately working.
