I'm trying to plan my curriculum for next year, but I'm stuck on third grade science. We use a lot of CLE, but their third grade science looks a little dry and hodge-podge. Rod and Staff looks a bit better, which for third grade is 'God's Protected World'. But still, it seems a bit all-over-the-place as far as what we'd study. Is this just what third grade science IS?

Anyone have any experience, good or bad, with either the R&S or CLE that I've mentioned?

Can anyone recommend anything else that they've enjoyed for third grade science? We're looking for something with a Christian worldview.

You'll find a lot of posts on Apologia (Exploring Creation . . . ). They would be great for a 3rd grader. Each book has one focus rather than hodge-podge. You can easily make it through one book in a year, although we have sometimes done two a year. It is definately a Christian world view.

A Child's Geography more of an Earth Science text. You may want to take a look at it. That's what I'm planning on using next year for our science.
