We finally got workbook level 2 in the mail last week. I was soooo glad to get started on this with my 2nd grader. We went through FLL previous to this. My son just wasn't getting narrations, so this is going to be helpful all year!! My son will write and write and write on a subject with every little tiny detail imaginable. He wrote on Clara Barton one time ( I was busy doing something else and wasn't paying attention) and he wrote 1 1/2 pages!
Today, he was doing a narration on ocean tides and he asked if I only wanted 2-3 sentences (thanks to WWE). He then wrote a great sentence and told me that the sentence was short but had lots of information in it! Yay!! He's getting it!!
So, I'm really glad to have invested in this. The only downside I can see is that the line width in the student notebook is too big. He wants to write smaller, so I'm using other paper for him to write on.

half of the dotted lines. I measured and the bottom half is almost exactly the same size as wide ruled notebook paper. Then I don't feel like I am wasting anything!

Good idea, I didn't really think about that!

My dd7 uses 2nd grade paper for most of her other writing and these lines are more like kindergarten size. She writes neater on the smaller lines, but when I think about it, I like the idea of her learning to write on what she is given, bigger or smaller.
Surprisingly, I think that dictations are her favorite part. She loves being able to write anything "on her own" (without copying it). We just finished week 4.

I also think the spacing is too large in WWE2. We're only using the bottom 2 lines.
I am really enjoying WWE as well - my son doesn't mind it and it is really shoring up his narration and copywork quickly. I really hope workbook 3 will be ready for next school year!
p.s. I agree on the lines. They are H U G E.

Ds does not mind doing WWE, I love it! It's so easy for me, it takes us 10-15 minutes to finish. I use the HWT paper (I still make him write the date and his name).

The line thing is our only problem with the program too. maybe they could offer the student pages with different sized lines? hint hint hint... I like the size of the lines in FLL3. otherwise we are just using other paper.

Same here! My only complaint is the size of the lines. Way too big for past K. It would be awesome if the offered the student pages in different sizes...at least two sizes.

May I ask you all?
what font style did you use before WWE and how are your children liking the font in WWE?
I loved OPGTR but the font was awful. We had to do everything on the whiteboard. Just curious if PHP had fixed this since OPGTR.
Thanks for the feedback.
