Wow, I don't know how I didn't see this coming. My oldest is now 13 (7th grade). I went with her last week to find some books for a history paper I wanted her to work on; but she didn't want to take any books from the children's section. ug. Okay so off we go to the "other side" for info on why the original Jamestown colony failed. However the only books we found (with the help) were quite thick... written in a long narrative format.... all on a broader topic (so she would have to read thru just to see if what she needed was even in there). At first I thought they were fictional accounts but no, they were non-fiction books. I immediately began to miss the children's section. Those non-fiction books are more to the point.

What about the young adult section? We have one in our library, but I'm not sure if it contains all genres or just fiction.

yeah, I think our library has a teen section but I think it is all fiction... good point though I'll have to ask.
