can someone explain to me the point of the "friends" thing on these boards? When someone requests to be added to your friends list, what does that mean? I just want to understand what that entails and what it means if you approve or reject a friend request, and why you do that. Thanks to anyone who will explain this to me!

It just means that someone is reaching out to you and likes the kind of posts you give. It doesn't give you super powers or any other benefit! :)
