Twice in the last 2 days DD12 has gotten DD9 all reved-up about some activity the two had come up with. They get everything ready to do this joint activity and then "Wham" DD12 decides she's not in the mood, and simply shuns DD9. DD9 was upset & hurt both times (DD12 can come up w/ some really cool ideas). Both times I pointed-out that I wouldn't want to play w/ someone so moody, so perhaps DD9 could find something to do on her own. And she did, both times. But today, after lunch (when the 2nd instance happened) DD12 had the nerve to come to me and ask me to make DD9 quit acting put-out w/ her! I reminded her of how she'd been treating DD9, and wouldn't SHE be put-out, too? I swear, I don't think DD12 had any idea of what she'd done! Like someone who causes a major traffic accident and then says "Did I do all that?"

So when do they learn to tune into how they impact the people around them?

I have three girls; two of them are teenagers. They can be wonderful, but drive me crazy at the same time! Today my older two were upset because their schoolwork took them so long (although part of it was their own fault). We seem to have a good two weeks a month where no one around our house is "hormonal", shall we say? ;) I'm really glad my husband is so easy-going, because he's the rock in our family that helps keep all these hormonal outbursts at bay!

One started her cycle last Sunday, one this Sunday and I start next Sunday. I can only assume that the up and coming one will take the off week so that it can be all fun, all of the time around here. Woo-hoo!

Mine haven't reached menarche yet, and both get very, very cranky whenever I have PMS, so I'm thinking they may end up on my cycle when the day comes. I'm not sure which is harder, having one cranky one a week or 3 cranky all at once!:eek: My PMS is longer than it used to be, too.

My dd is 10 and hormones are beginning to raise their ugly head. I am in my mid-40s and premenopause (or, gasp, the real thing) is starting to raise ITS ugly head.

My son hasn't started feeling too hormone-y, but I can already tell he'll be a sulker and pouter when he does.

I feel really sorry for my steady-eddy dh... :p

the hormones are definitely acting up big time. I just turned 44, but I can't say if perimenapause is to blame when I get short tempered or not.

My youngest is about to turn 4. No hormone shifts there, but plenty of personality, if you know what I mean!

Well, I'm 47/48 and I definitely blame premenopause. Since I'm still ovulating every month, I call it premenopause rather than perimenopause. There's no question that PMS is far worse for me now that it ever was when I was younger. Well, I can't recall how bad it was my first year or two after I started. I was such a LOVELY child back then;).
