in 9th grade. We are doing Vocab Vine this year (7th) and planned on doing 1/2 of Science Roots in 8th and the other half in 9th (the way Paula recommends if splitting it over 2yrs.. doing the basic vocab in 8th and the specific biology that lines up with Apologia Biology in 9th)... However as I'm thinking about high school and have decided I"m going to try to have him do Spanish for all 4years and French for all 4years plus Greek and everything else.. I"m wondering how to fit it all in. Not to mention a friend is doing Apologia Biol now (in 9th) and thinks there is more than enough vocab in it.. what should I do? I'm ordering my stuff tomorrow..

We started using Science Roots this year (2nd semester) in 8th grade. My dd does 2 roots per week and has had not trouble with fitting it in. We plan to continue in the summer because we school year round. Next year in 9th grade she will do year 2. I'm using Science Roots as vocabulary for this term. The only other vocabulary she studies are in her literature or history books, no formal program. Once we are finished with Biology she will go back to using a vocabulary program (Wordly Wise).

The Living Roots should help ease the time spent in learning vocabulary in Apologia. You could try to get more than half done in 8th grade. My son did the second half of Living Roots twice a week during his biology time, so it wasn't a separate subject.

Hi Kendall,
What are Living Roots? Is the program similar to Science Roots?
Tina--I'm actually considering doing Science Roots in 7th & 8th grade in preparation for Apologia Biology in 9th so that I don't overload our 9th grade year. There are so many good things to do and not enough time...
