If I just want to supplement MUS with Singapore Math, what do I need to buy? Textbook? Workbook? Extra Practice? Intensive Practice? Teachers or Home Instructors Guides?

I have supplemented with Singapore's Challenging Word Problems. I started with CWP 4 after Delta or Epsilon. I wish I had started with CWP 1 along with Beta or CWP 2 along with Gamma.
I also tried to supplement around 2nd grade with the textbook/workbook, but the experiment failed.
Good luck!

When you tried to supplement around 2nd grade w/the textbook/workbook, did it not work b/c of the Singapore texts you chose, and you think it would have worked w/CWP, or was there another factor?
Thanks!

There were several reasons it failed:
Ds had learned how to add vertically starting with the 1s, 10s, 100s in MUS. Singapore (at least the book we were using) taught how to add horizontally starting with the 100s, 10s, 1s. Ds was not interested in learning a new way.
I had a hard time teaching it because it was so different from the way I had learned math myself.
I found the home instructor's guide overwhelming and confusing. Perhaps this was in comparison to MUS, which I found very user friendly.
I didn't see the point of introducing metrics at that age.
I know it would have worked with the Challenging Word Problems. I didn't discover them until later. I thought they were great. Ds thought they were evil :w00t: We used CWP 4-6.
