Potter's School question

I have a friend who has a daughter taking a science class through Potter's School and she has been disappointed. Is it normal for students to be "chatting" about off-topic info during class? The instructor only occasionally steps in and sometimes when he steps in it's so he can participate :001_huh: Is this something that happens in other classes too?

my dd is taking her first writing class with TPS. So far the class is going well and the teacher is very much in control of the class.

My daughter is taking an online science class and she says there is some chatter but usually only when the teacher is working on something or is "away". Otherwise he has full control of the class and their attention. She loves it. I am sorry your friends' daughter is disappointed.

Latin class is run by Mr. Spotts who is talking/teaching/directing the whole 1.5 hours. There is no down-time for chatter that is non-Latin related.

I heard TPS science classes are rigorous. I'm surprised to hear your friend is having this experience. Hopefully it was isolated.
