What else do you grade besides the tests? I am doing, check, check plus, check minus on the lab reports. I have them rewrite or discuss questions they don't get.. How do you grade this?

They love the program by the way... It's so clear and well explained!

Well, aren't there On Your Own questions? You could P/F them on those?

test scores and give a quarterly lab score (based on their lab reports). I suppose you could give credit for the other work (OYO questions, study guides), but I like to keep things as uncomplicated as possible.

In the front of the textbook, Dr. Wile explains his suggestions for grading. He suggests weighting tests 65% & lab reports 35%. Those are the only things I grade.

I grade the study guides and at the end of the year, I will count the guides as 30% of the final grade.
