After doing so much research, asking questions and finally getting books I love, I'm worried that my younger dd won't get to use many. My older dd is rough on books. I don't mean that she purposely destroys them, but she reads ALL of her school books ALL the time (when she's not playing) and some of them really show a lot of general wear.

I bought some books for school and others for leisure, but she sees no such disctinction. This may be because we teach with a lot of living books.

Some of them are out of print and some had to be hunted down. I've always tried to teach her to be careful, but if the child is an early reader books don't get the same mileage.

Her Bible looks like it's been through the crusades.

And the consumables?! Singapore math has had the problems worked and "extra illustrations" added. On one page she incorrectly answered
x rabbits - y rabbits =? rabbits so she just drew another rabbit to make it right.

Let's just say you won't be seeing much of my stuff on the sale board.

This just reminded me of when my oldest son was in K/1st. I gave him a spelling test and he missed a word. I told him to correct it, and left the room for a minute. I returned to find him correcting the list in his Spelling Workout book with a red marker to match his incorrect spelling .
