Mom: "I wish you liked solving puzzles! If you did, you could look at Latin as solving a puzzle, and it might be less painful for you!"

The Kid: "But . . . I *do* like Latin."

Mom shoots The Kid the "Don't Pull My Leg" look.

The Kid: "No! Really! I think it's fun!"

Mom shoots The Kid the "Don't Play Me" look -- very similar to the "Don't Pull My Leg" look, but a little scarier.

The Kid: "No! Really! Yes, I said *fun*! No qualifiers! -- Um, are you okay?"

Mom: "Yeah . . ."

The Kid walks away shaking his head trying to figure out why parents are so weird. Mom stares at the wall trying to figure out why kids are so weird.

Gotta love it when your kids affirm the tough choices we make for them. My kids "love" Latin also (compared to Algebra & 5 para essays).

They were telling the gal who cuts their hair last week how much they are enjoying Latin. (Unprompted by me. I wasn't even in the building). :)

Definitely! I still did a double-take this morning when he actually asked me, "Can we do Latin now?!"

Unprompted, too?! And you're not even there! Woo hoo!!

Melissa,
Grab a copy of LL and let the kids try it. I have been so pleased w/ the results. I knew we couldn't do 4 years of translating goofy sentences. LL has an engaging story line.

Drew & Sharon (Plaid Dad & LatinTeach) would have more info on this program.
