We currently use a local cable service for cable and high speed internet. It's proven very unreliable. Internet is down at least 2x a week for no reason, I wake up each morning w/ no service and must unplug the modem and "reset" it to get service. It's a pain. Verizon DSL isn't available in my remote area yet. We pay close to $25 for this run-of-the-mill service. How much do you pay and through which service?

Oh man! That stinks! Have you called to complain? I'd have someone come out and see what the problem is!

We have Comcast and it includes our tv, phone (with long distance, local, caller id, voicemail included), and internet and we pay $120/month for all of it. Oh - and it's nearly never out. If we have a particularly bad storm, it will go out only because the electricity goes out. I don't think we've ever had a problem with the cable company itself!

We use Grande Communications. They offer a package deal with basic phone (no caller id, no call waiting, etc.), internet cable, and basic cable (25 channels). With tax our total monthly bill excluding long distance is $62. We have a pay-as-you-go cell phone that we use for long distance. It's a $100 a year for 1000 minutes.

We live in a rural area where cable and DSL (through the telephone company) are not available. We pay $62/month for a local line-of-sight internet service that is *very* fast and very reliable. Prior to this we used Hughes satellite for internet which was *awful* -- very slow and very unreliable.

We pay $67 mo. for phone, unlimited long distance, and dsl service through AT&T. It was a nightmare getting the bundled billing worked out. They double charged me 4 mos in a row. If I had not been persistent (spending hours on the phone) they would not have ever honored the amount they quoted me when I signed up for service.

I pay $40/month for dsl with them. I have had great service with them - very few outages or anything over the many years we have had them.

DSL through AT&T and it is bundled with our local/long distance phone bill.
We pay $35 per month for the bundle.

I had the highest speed of DSL and it cost me $35 per month all on its own.......but as we are trying to cut costs I stepped down to the slowest speed for $15 per month and we have really not noticed much difference at all.

we pay $30 per month for internet. We don't have cable or anything else. This price is their 6 month trial price, but every six months I call and ask if they will renew this price for me since I won't pay $55 per month for it (I would go the dsl phone company route first). So far they have always renewed that price. It is a pain though and every six months I have to talk to several layers of people before they renew the price. Every time they tell me it will be the last time they do it, but so far they have done it for 2-3 years now. :-) I'm always amazed at how fast 6 months goes by!

Forgot to mention a DSL service that my sister is using very successfully. It comes in a range of speed choices. She is on the slowest one and says it is *so* much better than the cable she was using. Here's the USFamily website (http://www.usfamily.net) . I know it works with Qwest telephone service. Sis' cost is $25 per month ($111 paid up-front for a year, then $15 per month added to the phone bill).

We pay $37.95/mo. for DSL from Verizon. We haven't had any problems with the service in the 3.5 years we've had it, and the help desk people have been efficient and on the ball the few times we've had to call on them for help with wireless set-up or rebooting after a big storm.

We have a 2-year introductory deal from Time Warner. We pay about $100 for cable TV, phone with unlimited long distance, and high-speed internet.
