Have you ever "recalled" a message?

I sent the wrong person an email by mistake. At the top of the sent item is an option to "recall this message". Does this work?

I think it does work as long as the person hasn't downloaded their messages. My email is *always* open and downloads as soon as I get a message. So, I sometimes get a message and then get a recall message right behind it.
