I don't have time to reply properly, plus my right hand is in a brace so typing is difficult today, but the short of it is this: I have used both and BJU is hands-down better. More engaging, more interesting. Period. :D

I have not used Abeka, so I can't contrast. There is a yahoo group for HomeSat users where this topic has been discussed at length many times. Can I suggest you join that group, then search the archives for "Abeka." You'll probably find the concrete answers you're looking for.

I am not aware of an Abeka Yahoo group, but if there is one, the members have probably had similar discussions about HomeSat. Why not see if you can find an Abeka group and search their archives for "HomeSat." I'm a happy HomeSat user, so I can't imagine why anyone would prefer Abeka; but obviously quite a few people do, and it would be fascinating to read why.
