Aside from being able to get items that are hard to find... why do you choose to shop at Amazon for your groceries?
The prices that I saw online didn't seem very competitive
(they are offering expensive brands to begin with), but more importantly you have to order in such large bulk! And then don't you have to pay shipping, too?
Just curious what the benefit is..
What sort of items does this seem to work best with?
Thanks

We live in a small town and it's hard to find a lot of items. We have the amazon prime service so we can order with free two day shipping for many items. I don't order a lot of items from them but there are some things that I just can't get locally. The nearest big towns are at least an hour away and with gas so expensive, it works out well for us.

If I lived in downtown Chicago, or some other very large city and either didn't own a car or it was hard to move my car and then find parking again, etc., then this might be attractive to me. Now, there may be tons of hidden grocery stores in these downtown areas that I just don't see as a tourist, but in general the most groceries I've found in downtown areas were in drug stores....

If you look at the Subscribe and Save items, you will see that you get an additional 20% off by subscribing to a delivery every 1,2,3 or 6 months and shipping is free without a Prime membership. It then becomes price competitive for these items - and very convenient. Everything is not available as subscribe and save, so you have to look for that.
When you subscribe, you can unsubscribe without placing a subsequent order, but I just put all mine on every six month service right now. That will give me time to see how fast we run through the items and adjust accordingly.
So far I've ordered Seventh Generation paper towels, toilet paper and laundry detergent; Rice Chex cereal; pasta; tuna. Their free delivery was very fast.

I wouldn't buy all groceries there but, as I said, I can't find Salsa Lizano in the States. Amazon has it, so I'll try ordering ti from them.

The times I ordered they were running specials such as $10 off. With free shipping, the cost was under what I'd pay at the grocery store.

We have a few subscribe and saves for 7th Generation products, and it's by far the cheapest place to get Pero.

oops! wrong post!
Extremely limited amounts of organic products, and it's about 2 hours away from the closest store that has all I need.
