Dh & I like romantic comedies & sci fi. Our favorites are Music & Lyrics, Matrix, Ever After, Spider Man, etc. Nothing too girly; explosive is fine but not a goal.

Suggestions? I just spent 10 min scrolling thr lists of new releases on Blockbuster.com, & it was...too much. Nothing looked good, &...I don't want to do research to find a movie, lol!

TIA!

romantic comedies & sci fi.
Suggestions?

Lars and the Real Girl (we both laughed out loud, but it was also IMO a good movie to discuss, if you felt so inclined)

Firefly (TV show) with Serenity (as the movie that wrapped up some loose ends when the show was cancelled)

(I have lists of movies, but not handy, and can never remember when people post questions like this --- but these two popped into my mind.)

Dh and I have been enjoying the Friday Night Lights tv show, 1st two seasons. High school football with all the angst and situations, the coach and his wife are interesting and sweet with each other. There's football, but lots more. And it's set in TX!

We've seen a bunch of duds lately.

Some of our old favorites are Finding Forrester, Searching for Bobby Fischer, My Cousin Vinny, North and South (the British one, not Civil War one), Miss Potter, Remember the Titans, For Love of the Game.

Probably too girly, but a very fun must see movie is Mama Mia. I don't know if it's out on DVD yet. Lots of talented eye candy (Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, et al, and not just middle aged eye candy, but some young, too, and not just the actors, but actresses, too.)

For anyone who was ever an ABBA fan or who grew up in the 1970s, this is so must see. It's a musical comedy set in Greece. Beautiful scenery. Some great voices.

We haven't really seen any good flicks lately that fit your bill, or any other one. My mother & I rented a couple of movies, but one was very artsy and I've forgotten the name of it, and the other one was sad.
