Hi! I am looking for a lit program for two of my dd's. Last year we did K12, and really enjoyed the liturature component of their language arts program. This year, I've felt that our lit has been lacking greatly. They are still reading books, but without the structured program, I don't feel like our discussions are what I would like them to be. They could both use the same level, as my 8yo loves to read and is above average in speed and comprehension, while my 10yo still needs a little coaxing. Does something like this exist for the elementary years?

I like them for literature. The Five a Row level uses picture books, but the books are engaging and the reading is not babyish at all. Book 4 of the FIAR might be a good choice. You might also look at the Beyond Five in Row books. That level uses chapter books. It is designed to be used as a unit study, but I have used it also as a literature study and found it very satisfying. I gives good information to put each book in some sort of context, it also teaches literary elements and has some art lessons integrated.
