View Full Version : Anybody know if the NASCAR event in Daytona will clear out of Daytona by tomorrow?

I just saw on tv that this was going on in Daytona NOW - we were going to meet up with friends from out of town but in the area tomorrow afternoon IN Daytona. Bad idea maybe? There will be a gazillion people there!

Does anyone know if there are events scheduled tomorrow too?

It looks like you should be free and clear. There may be a few lingering fans and some of the crews leaving. But as far as I can tell, after tonight's race the next big thing is the 500 on the 17th.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I don't pay much attention to these things, but I should!

I dunno -- they call it "Speed Weeks" for a reason. It won't be over until the 500. Tomorrow is qualifying -- some die hards might consider that a "don't miss."

the Daytona 500 is next weekend, so not sure if it will be clear or not..

There won't be the HUGE crowds like for the actual race, though. I do all my shopping in Daytona, right on Int'l Speedway, and I never avoid it except for the BIG race. Then again, I don't travel there on the interstate. But I think it will be OK for meeting your friends. The next race is on Thursday.
