....what level FLL would you go to for a 7yo 2nd grader that did R&S 2 last year??? I want to make sure we fill any gaps. We aren't experienced with picture studies, dictation, narration, or memory work just yet either.
What about WWE? Which level for a child with physical difficulty in writing very much.

I'm not familiar with R&S2...but we're finishing up FLL1 (which includes grade two). It has beginning dictation, a few poems (I substituted my own) and a few pictures. No narration excercises, really.
You don't need to do FLL for this. You could take any picture and have her describe it to you. You can narrate anything (I love Aesop's Fables!) and Dictation is simple, too. Just take a simple sentence from whatever you are reading and dictate that to her--better yet, when you are finished reading something, have her narrate it back to you--write it down--and then dictate the first sentence to her to write down. Then move to the first two.

I have two 7 year old 2nd graders. This is our first year of doing formal grammar. I started with the level 2 of FLL (lesson 100 or so). We are progressing well and it is quick, easy and fun.
I am also doing WWE and decided to start with level 1. However, I am skipping every other week and doing only one copywork excercise and one narration excercise per listed week. For instance, this week we did 1 copywork excercise from weeks 19 & 21 and 1 narration excercise from weeks 19 & 21. We will be done with level 1 in a few weeks and then I plan to slow the pace to normal for level 2. My girls are fairly proficient writers and have no problems with the copywork exercises. If your student struggles, you might consider working at a slower pace.

I haven't used R&S, but it has a reputation for rigor, so I would consider FLL3. It is so gentle and gradual that it would probably be fine? If writing is a struggle why not start with WWE 1. If it's too easy, just go through it faster and then move on to WWE2. There are also occasional dictation exercises in FLL3 which you can do, change to copywork, or skip entirely.
There were samples on the php website at one time.... you might check to see if they are still up.
