All three of our boys are sick. My little guy came down with it first and is the worst. I called this afternoon to have him seen because I suspect he has a sinus or ear infection on top of everything else (sneezing, barky cough, runny nose, fever, and congestion). He hasn't slept more than 20 minutes at a time, just wanted rocked all day (he's 4.5 so this is unusual), and was very cranky. He doesn't tell us when something hurts, so I would rather him be seen. Anyway, the first they could get him in was 10 tonight. Little guy wanted daddy to take him (he hasn't seen daddy all day and is quite attached to him), so I stayed home with my other two sick kiddos. DH just called, as soon as they pulled into the parking lot at the doctors, ds threw up everywhere. He only has the clothes he had on and his blanky he brought, which he was most likely holding. I feel so helpless right now, my other two are in bed, but dh has all the car seats anyway. At least ds can use a different car seat on the way home. Looks like I'll be cleaning the car and doing wash when they return. I feel so bad for my ds and dh.

dh just called, ds has a double ear infection. They are headed to a 24 hour pharmacy. Poor tike. This ped wasn't as concerned about ds (4.5) not telling us where it hurt, he just said some kids with high pain tolerance don't. The last on call doctor (a couple months ago) was almost lecturing us that by my ds's age he should be able to tell me his ear hurt.

I'm glad you took him in and found out what was wrong.
Goodness! These doctors sometimes. I just took my 14yo dd in today and she has a severe ear infection, and I didn't even know it really hurt *her* and she's 14!!
My kids usually never showed true distress with their ear infections until they were really bad off. So don't worry about what they say. Sometimes I wonder if half of them have kids of their own.
Hope you get some sleep!

Awww poor little guy and your dh sounds like a trooper! Like Michele B above, my 14 yo son just went to the ENT for his fourth ear infection in three months. Our ped couldn't believe he wasn't in pain - but he wasn't.
Hope the abx take effect quickly and you and dh get some sleep tonight. ((()))

:grouphug: I'm glad you know what was going on. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day for everyone. It's always so hard when you don't know how to help them.
