I'm looking for something fun and different for history to do with my boys (5th, 6th, 8th) for the next 12 weeks. For those of you who know me and didn't see my post on the general board, we've made the decision to put the boys in public school in the fall. We've been using TOG Year 2 Redesign this year (love it, but am going to sell it since we are giving up homeschooling) but I'm going to stop - some of the boys will be studying US history in school next year, and I don't want to do it this year, too. So, I'm looking for something else. We don't want to do any of the "typical" subjects covered in the 4-year history cycle, and I want to avoid studying Asia and Africa because one of the boys will be doing that next year.
So far I've looked at Around the World in 180 Days, which would be adaptable. I just wonder if there isn't something else out there...maybe some kind of fun unit study that's a little different. Does anyone have any ideas?
