My little guy has just been lagging behind. I know I shouldn't compare him to others, even his own siblings, but I just felt he should be further ahead. You know the thread a few days ago about "what's your first grader reading"? I almost cried...cause my first grader wasn't reading.

But in a thread someone (bless you) mentioned starfall.com. Bam! My ds is so engaged with that! He loves the computer and enjoyed success with the material right away. I've printed out some of the materials and he's coloring right now, happy as can be.

The best part...in two days we've gone from: You know I can't read, Mom. It's too hard. To this: I can do this, Mom. I really like reading.

Aw, how sweet is that? I have a little guy who is not on target, too. He is in first grade, but age wise should be in second. He just learned to read.

Can I give you some more resources? I used all of these in varying degrees because the phonics program I had relied on through his 5 older sibs was not enough for him.
