How far do numbers go?

We were doing grammar Thursday (R&S), and ds asked When we were going to get to the lessons about how far numbers go on for, where God comes from, etc. (We are working on adjectives, which bore him.) I explained that those are more philosophy questions than grammar, and he said we should ditch grammar and study philosophy. We aren't going to ditch grammar (nice try, kid!), but I would like to try philosophy, if there are any good books or programs out there for a 4th grader! I would love suggestions!

G is for Google by David Schwartz and Can you Count to a Googol by Robert E. Wells are both great books on this subject. Of course G is for Google covers other fun math topics as well. You'll find these in your nonfiction section of the library.

Thanks for all the great leads, Jessica! I'm going to try that Philosophy for Kids, by White. The sample text shows the question "What do numbers do when you're not using them?" How could I resist that?
