Yes, but I am pretty sure they wouldn't take a 3 year old. There are days I consider pre-school pretty seriously!

Oh yep! It's a rare week when I don't consider either daycare for my 2yo or preschool for the 4yo. I love homeschooling, it's all the other annoying life stuff that can get to me at times.:smilielol5:

The bus driver tried to force my dd on the bus one morning. Not sure what he was planning on doing with the dog she was walking...

Yep!
At our old house we could see the school from our kitchen window. I would threaten to walk 'em over.

Yup, but up to now, the feeling has always passed.

...as in, "I'm sealing you all in a box and shipping you to Madagascar, book rate."

I don't feel that temptation.
Mostly b/c catching the school bus involves bundling up 4 kids in 40 degree temperatures at 8am, driving over a mile, finding a parking space, and hanging out in the car for 10-30 minutes. Then there's the dangerous race to be the first to pull out of your spot as soon as the bus's red lights turn off. And if you don't fight to get out fast, you sit for another 15 minutes while everyone else clogs up the exit. Or, you get stuck waiting for the *next bus to load and take off and the second leg of the race starts. Then the drive home and unloading any remaining kids from the car.
And then we get to do it in reverse at 4:15.
I'm way too lazy to offload my kids!

She was about 12 at the time. He kept telling her to get on the bus. She kept telling him that she didn't go to school. He refused to close the door and leave. She finally turned and ran for home which was about 3 houses up a steep hill.

Oh dear, it's so good to know I'm not alone. I agree that it's not the school part, it's the other stuff. Honestly, if my 3-year-old would consider preschool, I'd send her. They could really use a break from each other twice a week. That kids gives my 6-year-old such a hard time!

Smart girl!!! I can't even imagine what that bus driver was thinking :glare: It's not like he'd have to come back and get her even if she WAS skipping school!

I seriously considered puttng them all in school this week. I am so sick of all the whining, complaining, and basically bad attitudes. They must have known I was truly at the end because all of them behaved yesterday and completed their work.
My kids view the school bus as a bad thing. I told them how long I had to ride when I was a kid, so the last thing they want to ever do is ride the bus. It makes for a good threat.:)

Several times a week, in fact, but only one of my dc.
If ds didn't have "issues" that are best addressed through homeschooling I'm sure he'd be on that bus :auto:
and we'd be waving away with grins on our faces.:D
It is only my sense of parental duty and responsibility (to him, the family, and society) that keeps him here many days.

Oh, my goodness, yes. I consider it often, in fact. I am the closest this year that I've ever been to putting the girls in school. I know it's because of the baby, and how challenging it is to get school done with his schedule.
I was quite disappointed to learn that the Snort misses the birthday cutoff and so will not be able to go to a 2 yo preschool class next year. There is an AWESOME preschool here that dh and I both love, and both agreed he would go if we still live here. Now he won't be able to join the 2 yo class until he is 3. :glare: But, lots of kids will be in the same situation and I am sure it will be fine. What I really hope is that we will not be here anymore so we will be addressing this situation somewhere close to where family lives!
