Kid's books to movies....

I noticed there's one called Nim's Island that's going to be a movie. Anyone read it? Anyone know of other upcoming movies based on books (besides that ones being advertised? Spiderwick, Narnia, etc.

Cornelia Funke's Inkheart is being released - I thought this spring...but after doing a search I see it's Jan of 09. You can watch a trailer here: http://www.inkheartmovie.com/ And the next Harry Potter movie is in November I believe. Somethings to look forward to...

Spiderwick Chronicles ....soon to be released or just released
Horton Hears a Who in March
And isn't there a new Narnia coming out????

I noticed there's one called Nim's Island that's going to be a movie. Anyone read it?
I read it today and it was great! (Sorry - I never learned to write a good book summary!)

I watched the movie trailer at imdb.com, and I can see some obvious differences from the book. Par for the course.

I told the girls we will probably see the movie if they don't "water horse" it. They giggled knowingly, after what Hollywood did to that book.

Amazon says there is a Nim's sequel coming out next month!:D

A movie based on The Dark is Rising by Susan Cooper is coming out sometime. This series is my absolute favorite from childhood...I re-read them still almost yearly and we went to Cornwall for our honeymoon. :) But I saw the trailer for the movie and I don't think I can go...they do some crazy things like make the main character American. :(
