Dh has a conference in South Carolina this summer at the Kiawah Island Resort. Does anyone have any experience with this place? We would be staying at a 3 bedroom villa near the tennis courts. Since we are from Texas, it would be rather expensive to fly the whole family out there so I am wondering if it is just ok, fun if you live there, or spectacular. Also, since we won't have a car, I want to know if we will need to rent one or if their shuttle is sufficient enough. Thanks for your input.

It's wonderful! It has the beach, pools, golf courses, tennis courts, bike riding, etc... It's abour 30-40 minutes from Charleston which is an incredible area. If you are happy lying on the beach and other resort activities you wounldn't need a car. However, if it rains you might wish you had one. Depending on the ages of your dc, Charleston has great history, restaurants, etc...

Will someone deliver groceries to you? Depending on how long you stay it could get really expensive to eat there. (I don't remember restaurant choices!)

Have a great time!
