Is it worth the money? Are their guidelines somewhere to help determine placement?
I bought the entire series because I'm unsure of where to start my middler and my youngest will use what he doesn't. Yet I'm still unsure after looking over them. And it appears you need to purchase the placement test?
He's in 1st this year (will turn 7 in a couple months), he used SWR for phonics/learning to read, he's just finishing the Sonlight grade 2 regular readers and will move into the intermediate readers. He's using Spelling Plus Dictation for spelling and doing fine with it. My reason for wanting to try ETC is he has some articulation issues and enjoys workbooks. I thought the combination of phonics in a workbook would be good extra practice for him. Where do I start him?
