Do you think Joanne would mind if we passed around a little political bean dip until after the elections in November? Kind of along the lines of:

Who are you voting for?
I prefer to keep that to myself. Want some bean dip?

If you're voting for that ticket, clearly you don't know all of the issues.
Actually, I've done quite a bit of research and I do know all of the issues. How 'bout some bean dip?

You're going to waste a vote if you don't vote Dem or Repub.
Actually, my vote still counts and I'm free to vote for whomever. Bean dip?

I can't stand the VP he picked. What was he thinking?
I love his choice! Have some bean dip.

You can not possibly be a Christian and vote for him.
I am a Christian and I'd appreciate that you not judge me. Bean dip?

All of the political coverage here, from my inlaws, and in the media, is starting to make me feel very stressed and worried. I say bring the bean dip on!

Depends on what you mean by "pass around".

I was asked (not here) about Sarah Palin but only after having to hear this person observe that the RNC was packed with out and out lies, that those who cheered for Palin's speech have brains packed with jelly, and that anyone jumping on the Palin bandwagon obviously also enjoys Jerry Springer.

So can you pass me some bean dip that I can throw at this person?? :D

In all seriousness, this person makes me appreciate the civilized dialogue that goes on here!

Will there be Fritos or Doritos served with it? Because with bean dip, I like Fritos.

Fresh bean dip and homemade tortilla chips sound real good right now. I am totally dreading my bday this yr., it comes right before elections. I told dh he better make it a good one, so I can be in a good mood the week after.

While I have my views on the politicians, if find myself struggling to understand the other side's point of view. Most my friends in my small circle hold views similar to mine, so I'm not able to see the other side's point of view from them.

That is why it is so interesting for me to come here and read viewpoints that differ from my own.

Of course, it's always appropriate to share with wisdom and discretion. Oftentimes these discussions get heated and out of hand. However, passions run high as these are areas most of us feel strongly about.

As a long time lurker on these boards and a recent poster, I find these discussions allow me to see the other side. I don't change my opinion necessarily, but it causes me to realize that others have convictions just as firm as mine.

:iagree:

This is the perfect ticket! They would make all right with the world. Do you think we have enough voting power here to write them in and overturn the election??????? :D
