Is anyone here currently using this program? Can it be used in tandem with Art of Argument, or should it be used as a separate course? (Perhaps A of A for 1st 1/2 of the year, and Argument Builder for 2nd half?)
Thanks! :001_smile:

I am impressed with how easy The Argument Builder looks like it will be to use straight off the shelf. I haven't seen another easier to use book covering rhetorical invention, and I was very happy to see something like this in print. I am using it with my youngest this year, in combination with my own writing assignments and some assignments from Greg Roper's Writer's Workshop. My son has already finished both Traditional Logic I and Fallacy Detective (for informal logic), and I think Argument Builder will be a good course to use before we tackle Traditional Logic Book II, which I think requires more maturity of thinking and reasoning than did TLI and informal logic.
I think it would be best to use Art of Argument first and then The Argument Builder rather than using them concurrently, although the decision might depend on the age and maturity of the student. Are you planning to use it this year? Have you had a chance to read through it?

Hi LaJuana,
Thanks for the helpful information. We just began using Art of Argument this week. I only saw the online samples of Argument Builder, and got the impression that it would be fairly straightforward and easy to implement.
It sounds like it would be better to use Art of Argument first before getting into Argument Builder. I'd really like to get to it by the 2nd half of the year.
My dd is in 8th gr. (-turning 14 in January)
