...to those that are studying French or have any experience with the language, which curriculum do you recommend for a 15 yj dd and perhaps me, if I make the time somewhere, to learn independently or the least involvement on my part.

I thought to get a curr. that she can go to her room and have fun learning on her own and I mean learning it. She enjoys listening to songs and movies, she gets the dvd...put it in her labtop...get into the settings and change the language, viola! listening her fav dvds in French. It is fun, we like it very much, but:(...we do not understand. We can figure it out, I can get some words here and there but it would be so exciting to be able to watch the movie in another language:D,heehee.

Could you help us?
Thanks in advance.

Michel Thomas courses are excellent. They teach French exclusively using CDs. You aren't supposed to memorise or write anything. He takes you through all the tenses and complex grammar if you cover the 8hr course and the 4 cd advanced course.
This course got my husband speaking close to fluent French from scratch. We lived in France for six months and we had no problems conversing with people.
This course is relaxed and really gives you the confidence you need to start speaking staright away.
I just wish there was a Danish one now...
