I have macular degeneration( was diagnosed 14 years ago) and I got a bad report from the doctor this week. I know God is bigger than this disease and I'd like to ask you all to lift this up to the Lord; that I have no vision changes now and in the future. I have to see a retinal specialist in a few weeks and I'd like to find out some answers to why and what exactly is going on.

I had retinal detachment surgery several years ago so I can somewhat relate to what you are going through. I will be praying for you.

I'm so sorry Quiver. Dh is now on the glaucoma watch list...that worries me too. He has to go quite often to get check ups. I'm glad that the optometrist wanted to send him to specialists.
Will pray for you!

(((Jean))) I'll be praying. Is it the "wet", or "dry" kind? My mother has the "dry" kind.

Right now it's dry, but what I didn't know, and learned this week, is there are 2 kinds of dry; hard and soft. Soft is the worse kind of dry to have and is what I have. Soft is bad because the drusen is larger and tends to clump together which is what = vision loss. Soft also has a higher % of risk to lead to wet.

Thank you everyone. I am trying to hold it together and trust in Him. I thought I had dealt with all this years ago when I first learned I had it, but this week is tough and I need to get my act together.
