I am needing new dishes. My old ones are only four years old and although Corelle isn't suppose to it is breaking left and right suddenly. Worse yet when it breaks it shatters and it is worse than picking up a regular plate. We have lost enough plates to warrant something new. I don't want anything terribly expensive but I don't want to go completely cheap. We don't have a lot of options up here in terms of stores. We do have the usual such as Target, Walmart, Sears and Penneys. I wish we had a Bed, Bath & Beyond or a Linen and Things. Perhaps I will have to buckle down and head to the cities to try there. There is also and outlet mall on the way. has anyone ever gotten their dishes there?
TIA

IKEA has really nice dishes that are not to expensive. You can go fun and trendy or classic/plain. The only drawback is that there are only a few sets you can order through mail-order. Still, maybe there will be something you like there or someone you know who could buy and ship them to you?

I hadn't thought of IKEA. They are in the cities too. I think this is probably one of those evenings when I am really going to be wishing I was somewhere near all of my beloved (well not before I couldn't just run to them) stores. I will add IKEA to the list. Thanks
From Crate and Barrell a few years ago when our Williams Sonoma set was too chipped to tolerate.

They've held up fantastically well - not even a chip on any of them. And we like the retro style. But they are, well, diner plates.

OH that made me think. There is a restaurant supply store downtown, I wonder if they have plates. I am certainly not opposed to diner plates!
