level. He is doing well with 3 letter words. We have been working on letter blends and diagraphs but I'm having trouble finding books for him that aren't too easy or too hard. It seems like there is a lot of either kind but not what we need. Any ideas, or suggestions?

I posted this over on the general board, but I think I might get more hits here.

I'm sorry I don't recall who originally posted this, but it has been wonderful! So many of the "level 1" book contain sight words and aren't really introductory readers. Towards the end of the full text in above link there is a book list that is broken down into each stage, we've used it for weeks now along with SWR, my K'ers confidence has exploded.

I used MCP Phonics Practice readers. You can find them at Rainbow Resource Center. These are short, beginner books that get progressively more difficult, but if I remember correctly don't have lots and lots of sight words in them (that's one thing that I found frustrating for my dc when they were first reading).
