Our Wild Oats (as with all) is now Whole Foods. I don't like the changes. At all. I loved my Wild Oats. I'm not loving this Whole Foods.
Anyway, I sent dh there today to pick up more prenatal vitamins. He just called to say that they no longer carry the brand I had and the ones they had were much more expensive and instead of taking 2 a day, they're 6 a day. I don't mind the amount a day, but to be more expensive and not have the option of the ones I've taken since September that I *loved*?
I was just on their website and it appears you can't see what products they carry (this store is about 30 min away, but dh works near it, which is why I sent him. Now I'm gonna have to make a trip). The site seems mainly article based in support of their products. I'm very agitated.
Anyway, does anyone use a prenatal vitamin from Whole Foods, and if so, what kind do you take? Is there another kind of prenatal from somewhere else (Trader Joes?) that would be good? I definitely want a whole food vitamin.
I know this post is pretty much useless - I'm just gonna have to make a trip up there myself tonight or tomorrow. I guess I just wanted to grumble.

Bummer... it's aggravating to lose something that had been working well, only to be replaced with something that doesn't! It's been a long time since I needed prenatal vitamins, but 8 years ago my nurse-midwife recommended the Trader Joes vitamins. That was well before we had a local Trader Joes, and I had to drive 45 minutes to get them. Sorry I can't be of more help. (LOL, and I can't imagine taking 6 vitamins a day!)
Can you order your favorites online?

I've never been to a Wild Oats, but my mom has and she raved about them. It's sad the take-over was not the other way around. My local WF is called Harry's, they bought-out an independent chain in the Atl area that was awesome. Harry's along with the Dekalb Farmer's market were the best places to shop. I still go to Harry's/WF (we are on a GF diet) and the greens/fruit at local chain stores are yucky, but I do often wish for the old days. As far as vits go, I don't know of a good cheap one. Have you tried the Vitamin Shoppe? They have some pretty good deals.

You know, in my self-pity and grumbling, I didn't even think about ordering them online. Dh has the empty bottle with him and hopefully he didn't throw it away:eek:. If he didn't, I will look into that when he gets home.
Thanks for the obvious suggestion and for your sympathy. I really am a baby to complain about it, but I appreciate it nonetheless.

I feel the same way, Jenny. I wish it had been the other way around too. There's something about it that feels like WF is another conglomerate. I know they're not that big, but I don't like the way they are buying out other businesses. Your situation is sad - losing a local farmers market and your Harry's.
Thanks for the commiseration!

Whole Foods has dropped some products that I like as well.
It's a shame that as soon as there is really strong support for a whole foods industry, the whole thing is taken over by corporate money grubbers.:(
Maybe the internet will work out for you.

I don't think you're a baby. I complain about that stuff all the time. Just ask my even-keeled, never-ever-complains-about-anything DH! I hate when I can't find my favorite brand of something.
Also try Vitaglo.com. Their prices are great, and they have free shipping over $50.
