writing tales 2- is the TM necessary?

You could do without the TM. The student book does have everything you need in it. You certainly don't need the TM for answers because they are pretty easy. That said, I wouldn't want to part my TM. I use the appendix to play the games and I follow the lesson plans that are spelled out pretty closely. With 4 boys and a job, I like that I can just open the book and go with writing. I know that appendix A of the TM is available for download on Lulu so that you don't have to try to copy the pages but I'm not sure if it is only available is you purchase the TM. Either way, I haven't been able to get it to download on my Mac.
