Trying this again - don't know where the first post went.

Anyway, we had 7 couples and 2 single women for our Indian food potluck dinner tonight - the food was fantastic! We even had Elk Tandoori! (How odd, but delicious, is that?)

We're talking about making this a tradition. Every couple of months getting together for a potluck of different ethnic foods. Next time might be Japanese food or Mexican.

What's your favorite ethnic food group? What's the best potluck you've been to?

I love that I can seat 20+ people in my dining room (including the kids!) - I love feeding a crowd! Yay! Yumm!

When my dh was a youth pastor, we had a high school youth potluck that was food from around the world. Each student made food from a different country and presented a little info about their culture and how we can be praying for them. It was so much fun, and I was amazed at how well some of the youth were able to cook!

Post recipes please -- we love Indian food, and live in small town Texas. Nearest Indian food is in Shreveport LA or Dallas.

Gwen, check out Classic Indian Cooking by Julie Sahni. Maybe your library has it. I have learned so much about Indian cuisine from this one book. The recipes are terrific! :)

Your dinner sounds wonderful! We used to live in a college town with many international students. We used to invite them to our house for dinners. We had great Chinese, Indian, Korean and Japanese food. I miss our time with them. We had some great times and made some great friends.

a friend's house and she was just going on and on about the meal, the people...

So fun to throw a successful bash, isn't it?
